What we store
Unstrap stores your watch's files so that only you can read them. Data is stored by Cloudflare in the EU (D1 database and R2 storage, EU jurisdiction). How security works.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The FIT files your watch uploads, byte for byte, with their path and size | That's the service |
| Your watch's unit ID, USB serial, model and firmware | To show which watch the data came from |
| Your email address | Sign-in links |
| A keyed hash of the network a sync or sign-in came from (never the IP address itself) | Adding a watch requires the sync to come from the same network as your browser |
| When each sync ran, how many files it read and uploaded, and the app version | Sync history and live status |
How long
Data from a watch that hasn't been added to an account is deleted 30 days after its last sync. Your own data stays until you delete it: deleting a watch or your account removes the files and everything about them.
What we don't do
No tracking, no ads, no selling or sharing data. Cookies: one that keeps you signed in, one for 20 minutes while you sign in, and one for your light/dark choice.
